ATTENDING PDAC 2015: TOP THREE BUZZ TOPICS

roject Services is delighted to attend Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada Convention from March 1-4 2015. An event that began in Toronto in 1932, the four-day conference now garners over 30,000 professionals each year. This sheer size shows there are certainly a multitude of industry discussions and events swirling in attendee’s minds.
That’s why we’ve narrowed our search down to the top three buzz topics we think we’ll hear at PDAC 2015. Here’s what we found:
ZINC IS IN
Quick Facts
Investing in zinc is enticing with stocks defined as “low now, up soon.” While some believe it will continue to falter, many see opportunity.
- 29.9 Billion = total estimated value of Zinc production in 2015
- In 2015, China will export 44% of the worlds Zinc production and use 45% of global zinc supply
- All spare ex-China metal stocks could be exhausted in just over a year, and demand will have to be rationed to level of supply
Companies to Watch
Foran Mining (TSXV:FOM), a copper-zinc exploration company focused on Central Canada, specifically the Flin Flon mining belt in Saskatchewan. Its primary project is the Mcllvenna Bay deposit, a copper-zinc-gold-silver property
POTASH IS A POWERHOUSE
Exploration is on the rise and newer companies are looking for ways to diversify themselves. As Project Managers, here are some companies we’ll have our eye on.
Companies to Watch
IC Potash (TSX:ICP,OTCQX:ICPTF) The New Mexico based company’s main focus is becoming the world’s lowest-capital-cost producer of sulfate of potash and sulfate of potash magnesia.
Western Potash (TSX:WPX) It’s currently working to build a solution mine at its Milestone property in Saskatchewan. It plans to develop the property in an ecologically sustainable way.
SILVER COMPANIES SET THE STAGE
With just over 30 silver companies attending, silver will be a solid topic of focus at PDAC 2015.
March 2nd: PDAC Power Breakfast a silver mine for networking
The annual PDAC Power Breakfast promises to include the best and brightest in the mining industry and that includes Endeavour Silver (TSE:EDR). From reporting record fourth quarter production results that topped analyst views, it seems to be a key player to watch.
